West Bengal Khambu Rai Development Board (WBKRDB) submitted the Utilisation Certificate of Rs. 5 Crore in respect of Grant in-Aid to Backward Class Welfare Department under Government of West Bengal on October 24, 2016.
A sum of Rs. 5 Crore was sanctioned vide 175(Sanction)/6E-25/2014(Pt-I) dated 16.02.2016 of the Secretary to the Government of West Bengal, Backward Class Welfare Department, Administrative Building, 4th & 5th Floor, Block-DJ/4, Sector II, Bidhannagar, Kolkata-700091 for the construction of Yelamber Khambu Khim (Housing Scheme), for the poor and needy Khambu Rai Community living in Darjeeling hills.
Accordingly, WBKRDB has disbursed the amount of Rs. 1 Lakh each to 500 different (https://raiboard.org/2016/first-phase-of-total-500-beneficiaries-list) families belonging to Khambu Rai community residing in the Darjeeling hills and Tarai & Dooars, whose houses are under construction within the Scheme. The cost of each house under the Yelamber Khambu Khim scheme is Rs. 2 Lakh, remaining amount will be distributed as per.
