WBKRDB distributes cardamom saplings to farmers

Darjeeling, July 22: In the hills of Darjeeling, there are remote places where cardamom agriculture is viable and successfully cultivating. In an effort of West Bengal Khambu Rai Development Board to support economically deprived Khambu Rais farmers of Rampuria near Takhdah, about 35 km from Darjeeling, WBKRDB has distributed 200 cardamom saplings to 20 families of the locality.

Vice Chairman Shree SM Rai, himself visited the area on foot, about 45 minutes rough hilly terrain  and handed over the saplings to local farmers on Sunday July 22. During the occasion, local farmers with the support of Khambu Rai Association organized a short interactive session, where the local issues discussed between WBKRDB members and local farmers. Vice Chairman has assured all possible help to local farmers within the parameter of Khambu Rai Development Board.
