Plantation of flowering plants along roadsides of Peshok-Mangpu road was carried out by The West Bengal Khambu Rai Development Board, in association with COMP, Mangpoo, Khambu Rai Sanskritik Sansthan and Gyanpith School, Mangpoo. Seedlings and technical assistance was provided by the Director, Directorate of Cinchona and Other Medicinal Plants under the department of Food processing Industries and Horticulture. About 1500 seedlings of flowering plants were planted during the occasion held on August 6.

About 100 volunteers were took part in the planting program including students and teachers of Gyanpith school. Though it was raining moderately, all the members and volunteers participated in the program enthusiastically. Dr. Samuel Rai, Director, COMP, also briefly attended and encouraged the participants. President and Secretary along with the members of KKRSS Mangpoo zone took part in the planting. Sri Bidur Chettri, Manager and other staffs of COMP provided the technical knowhow. The tree planting program was arranged and supervised by West Bengal Khambu Rai Development Board. Sri MS Rai, WBKRDB Chairman, Sri Ghanasyam Rai and Udhayan Rai, Members were present during the occasion and actively supervised the program.
