Following the successful plantation in Mangpoo last week, West Bengal Khambu Rai Development Board (WBKRDB) held a similar tree plantation program at Barmek, Mongsong under Kalimpong sub division on Sunday, August 14. About 1500 Kasmire pine trees and flowering plants were planted at the premises of Khambu Rai Mangkhim, which has about 1 acre of land under its possession.

In presence of huge gatherings of KKRSS members, prayer was initiated at Mangkhim by Khambu elders. Following the prayer at Mangkhim by WBKRDB chairman, Vice Chairman, Board Members and short speech of Board Chairman on the program, plantation program was begun. About 100 KKRSS members from Kalimpong I and II were present as volunteers and successfully carried out the tree plantation programe at stipulated time.

WBKRDB thanks all the KKRSS members and volunteers for making it another successful event for the society.
