Training on Chasum Sili

September 24, 2018: Rajbari unit of KKRSS has conducted a month long training programme on Chasum Sili (Dance), a traditional Khambu Rai dance, which is performed during thanks giving ceremony before and after the harvesting seasons, to offer its prayer for good luck by the Khambu Rai people.

The training programme was sponsored by the West Bengal Khambu Rai Development Board and organised by Rajbari unit of KKRSS.

A month long training programme was concluded today and issued the certificates to the participants in presence of WBKRDB Chairman Shri Dipraj Rai and Member Secretary Shri Kausik Chaterjee. Sili instructor, Shri Mohen Rai from Lebong, was also felicitated in a programme held today, who had given training to total 18 candidates from the Rajbari/Kakjhora areas, mostly elderly women were participated in the Chasum Sili training programme. During the occasion, the Chasum Sili was performed by newly trained women.

WBKRDB Chairman Shri Dipraj Rai, congratulated newly trained participants and appraised the initiative taken by the Rajbari unit, for encouraging the elderly participants to actively participate in such a cultural programme. Shri Dipraj Rai also assured his total commitment towards the Khambu Rai community.

During the occasion, Member Secretary, WBKRDB, Kausik Chaterjee also highlighted the importance of such cultural programme and assured his full support and cooperation in such cultural programme which surely highlight and safeguard the Khambu Rai culture.
