Following the ‘Notification’ issued on July 31, 2018, by the department of Backward Class Welfare Department, Govt. of West Bengal, resolving the issue of chairmanship for Khambu Rai Development Board, which has been lying vacant for last one year. ‘Notification’ has notified the new chairman and vice chairman of Khambu Rai Board as Shri Dipraj Rai and Mrs. Sharda Rai respectively, and three new Board members.

Accordingly, on Monday, August 20, 2018, the new Chairman of the Board has called a General Meeting of the Board. During the General meeting, new members as well as chairman of the Board, Shri Dipraj Rai was Welcome and interactive session was held. Chairman Shri Dipraj Rai addressed the house and assured his commitments towards responsibilities of Board also encouraged board members to work together to uplift the Khambu Rai community in the hills. Member Secretary of the board, Mr. Kausik Chatterjee highlighted the importance and the responsibilities of the Board members.

House passed the resolution of signatory authority in favour of newly nominated chairman of the Board. The next General board meeting is likely to be held after 20 days.
