Khambu Rais celebrates Sakela Udhauli

Sakela is the main festival of Rai people which is celebrated twice a year and is distinguished by two names Ubhauli and Udhauli. Sakela Ubhauli is celebrated during Baisakh Purnima (full moon day in the month of Baishak) and Sakela Udhauli is celebrated during the full moon day in the month of Mangsir.

Khambu Rais are the worshipers of nature. The Sakela celebration is a prayer to mother nature for healthy crops and protection from natural calamities.

KKRSS Bijanbari block organised the Sakela Udhauli on January 16, 2020 in Marebong, Bijanbari. Distinguished members of KKRSS were present including the chairman of Khambu Rai Development board. During the occasion, senior citizen of Khambu Rai members were also felicitated.
