October 10, 2018: The two cultural groups of West Bengal Khambu Rai Development Board participated at Sabala Mela 2018 on Wednesday, which is being held in Kalimpong from October 6 to 12. The Sabala Mela 2018 is organised by Office of the District Magistrate, Kalimpong. Two Khambu Rai groups were (i) Anupama Rai and Sili dance group and (ii) Khambu Rai Cultural group.

In one hour cultural show, Cultural music with traditional instruments and Chasum Sili (Dance) were performed. Cultural instrumental music was performed by the Khambu Rai Cultural group from Kurseong, similarly, Chasum Sili was performed by the Anupama Rai and Sili dance group from Mirik. Chasum Sili, which is commonly, represents the way Khambu Rai people harvest its food grains.

Overall, it was successful cultural show presented by West Bengal Khambu Rai Development Board. Chairman Shri Dipraj Rai was also present during the occasion, as well as Board members and KKRSS representatives from across the Kalimpong blocks were also present and witnessed the cultural programme held at Mela ground, Kalimpong today.
