Following the establishment of West Bengal Khambu Rai Development Board under the Backward Classes Welfare Department, it has disbursed the amount for the construction of houses to the needy Khambu people of Darjeeling hills. The list of Khambu Rai beneficiary is updated in a portal of WBKRDB. Accordingly Khambu people who have received the amount for the construction of houses started construction of their houses, some houses are almost in finishing line of construction.  Rs. 2 lakh is granted for each house.
