Govt. sanctions 500 Khambu houses

March 2, 2016: The West Bengal Khambu Rai Development Board (WBKRDB) has started functioning in the hills, for the first time WBKRDB has issued the Chaque Amount of Rs. 1,00,000/- (one lakh)  to Khambus BPL (Below Poverty Line) families residing in the villages adjacent to Sonada and Kurseong. Total Rs. 2 Lakh is granted to each entitled BPL families for the construction of 300 sq. ft of house. Remaining amount will be given on work done basis following the inspection by WBKRDB evaluation committee. Chaques were issued by Executive Body of WBKRDB at DM office today.

There are already 500 Khambu houses are granted, which will be distributed to the needy Khambu people residing in the villages of Darjeeling hills.
