Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Chowrasta

September 5, 2018: There were more than Hundreds Khambu Rai people at Chowrasta in traditional Khambu Rai attire on September 5, representing West Bengal Khambu Rai Development Board to witness and respect Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Chowrasta on the occasion of Teacher’s Day and during the laying foundation programme of Darjeeling Hill University.

On the September 3, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived in Bagdogra at around 4:45pm and reached Darjeeling at around 9pm in Darjeeling for a three days visit to the hills, particularly to lay foundation for the Darjeeling Hill University. During her visit to Darjeeling, West Bengal Khambu Rai Development Board had many Khambu youth groups on the way to Welcome Hon’ble Chief Minister on September 3. Board Chairman Shri Dipraj Rai himself Welcomed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Simulbari along with his Mirik Khambu group in traditional attire. Similarly, there were more than hundreds Khambu Rai people along with SILI team in Ghoom railway station and Darjeeling railway station too, who offered traditional khada to Chief Minister and welcome her with deepest regards, till 9pm on September 3 despite incessant rain.
