October 2, 2018: Tenchipa Bantawa Rai, who is a prominent Khambu Rai resource person in Khambu Rai community of Darjeeling hills. In every Khambu Rai cultural programme or seminar, we certainly find the presence of Tenchipa. He has thorough knowledge on Bantawa language, as well as on Rai Mundhum, Rai culture and rituals. On his credit, he has published few books on Khambu Rai cultures and traditions.

In recent past, he has been severely ill and has not been able to come out of his house. Therefore, most of concerned Khambu Rai people are visiting his place. Chairman Shri Dipraj Rai also met Tenchipa on Thursday at his home and inquired about his health.
